Join Tenzin for an intimate and inspiring workshop that goes far beyond notes on a page.
Renowned for his raw, deeply heartfelt music, Tenzin invites participants into his world, sharing stories of Tibetan culture, nomadic traditions, and the personal experiences that shape his songwriting and performance. This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artist about how and why his music is created, and to experience it from the inside.
The workshop is relaxed, open, and inclusive, blending conversation, listening, and music-making. Tenzin will guide participants through two of his original works, with singers and instrumentalists invited to learn repertoire that may be performed alongside him in the evening concert.
Choir participants will explore GangRi (Snowy Mountain), a powerful song composed in honour of the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, learning pronunciation, meaning, and musical expression directly from the composer.
String players will work on Snow Lion, an evocative original work inspired by Tibetan imagery and spirit.
Singers and players of all ages are welcome. Tenzin works beautifully with mixed groups and adapts the session to whoever is in the room, whether that’s a full ensemble or a small, curious group of music lovers.
Above all, this workshop is about connection: to culture, to story, and to music that is honest, moving, and profoundly human.
All registrations will receive an email with links to the scores, recording and phonetics for the songs.
