Associates Program
2026 ASSOCIATE TUTOR PROGRAM
Program Overview
The ORC provides young music students with the opportunity for paid employment through its Associate Tutor/Accompanist Program, a structured mentoring program covering a variety of real-world outcomes and skills.
Associate Tutor Opportunities
Work available for students in the Associate Program varies throughout the year and depends on the ORC’s staffing needs and project availability. Please see below for examples of different roles and opportunities which an Associate Tutor can apply for. Actual duties and hours will be confirmed and discussed at the beginning of 2026.
• Piano Accompanist
• Ensemble Assistant/Leader for junior and/or school groups
• Individual Lesson Tutor
• Marketing Assistant
• Production Assistant
• Front of House/Back of House Assistant
• General Department Administrative Assistant (including librarian work)
Mentorship
Each Associate Tutor is matched with a mentor, usually their Head of Department, who offers weekly support, guidance, and feedback. These mentoring sessions are an included benefit of the program and are not considered paid time. This will form part of the discussion with successful candidates.
Application Process
All eligible students are welcome to apply. Applications will be assessed by the Head of Department, Programs Manager, Innovation Officer, and Executive Director. Please return completed application forms via email to Innovation Officer Stephanie Li (stephanie.li@orangecon.org.au).
Applications close at 5pm Friday 5 December 2025. Interviews will be held between Monday 8 and Friday 12 December 2025 (shortlisted applicants only). All applicants will be notified of the result of their application. Offers will be sent to successful applicants in January 2026.
