Free Music Classes for Young Children – Come Try Before You Enrol!

The Orange Regional Conservatorium (ORC) is inviting local families to experience the joy of music at one of three free and open Early Childhood Music (ECM) classes being offered in the last week of term 3.

Designed for children aged 0–5 years, these playful and engaging sessions involve singing, dancing, instrument play, and movement. They're a wonderful opportunity to see the program in action, meet our dedicated educators, and discover the many benefits music can bring to a young child’s development, from improving balance and coordination to sparking imagination and building early language skills.

These special try-out classes are perfect for families considering enrolling in Term 4, with no cost or commitment required.

Classes will be held on;

  • Tuesday 23 Sept 9.30am

  • Thursday 25 Sept 10.30am

Suitable for children aged 0–5 years, with siblings welcome at half price for regular enrolments

The program is led by Carmel Follent, a much-loved local music educator with decades of experience in both school and community music. Carmel graduated from the University of Queensland in 1985, majoring in violin and teaching. After moving to the Central West, she raised her family while continuing to teach music with a creative and nurturing approach. With specialised training in the Suzuki and Kodály methods, Carmel brings energy, warmth, and a wealth of knowledge to every lesson, making music both fun and meaningful for young children.
