ORC HANDBELL CHOIR

The Orange Regional Conservatorium is the proud caretaker of the Orange Community’s set of Malmark handbells, some of the world’s most finely crafted Handbells.

For most of their history, the handbells have been housed at Holy Trinity Church, where a handbell choir regularly rehearsed. The ORC are now ensuring Orange’s Handbell choir continues by taking the organisation and administration of the group, as well as providing an expert conductor to direct the group, Phil Rees OAM.

Orange has a strong community of Bellringers, who are now seeking new members to join their choir under the auspices of the ORC Ensembles Program.

The ORC Handbell Choir will rehearse weekly, learn the ins-and-outs of Handbell use, care, repertoire and musicianship. They will have opportunities to perform regularly as part of the ORC’s ensemble performance Program

If you are interested in learning more or joining the Handbell Choir, please contact James Buchanan, ORC Programs and Projects Manager, james.buchanan@orangecon.org.au
