Orange Regional Conservatorium’ Music Within campaign has received a major boast. Cadia Valley Operations have presented the ORC with a $250,000 cheque to fund audio production and recording equipment in the Recital Hall.

Dr Pam Ryan, ORC Management Committee Chair said, ‘This is wonderful news for the Con. Our aim is to raise $1.5 million by the end of the year, so Cadia’s generosity makes a huge dent in that total. We are delighted to recognise Cadia as a founding benefactor of the new building.’

With construction costs funded by the Federal, State and Local governments, ORC is now working closely with the community to bring to life the fit-out of the building. Donations contribute to the purchases of everything from pianos to music stands, specialist chairs, staging equipment, teaching resources, instruments, furniture, technology and much more. ‘This equipment will grant ORC the opportunity to be one of the leading regional Conservatoriums in Australia. With a high level of technical equipment in the Recital Hall, we will be able to host diverse and technically demanding concerts of both National and International significance,’ said Donna Riles, ORC Director.

Dr Ryan said the Music Within campaign seeks to bring music to life not only in the new building but across the community. ‘In any community, we need our hard infrastructure, but we also need our soft infrastructure that pays regard to people’s health and wellbeing and it feeds their soul as music does. We thank Cadia for supporting us and the social infrastructure of Orange.’
