Orange Youth Orchestra Festival

The Orange Regional Conservatorium is excited to present the Orange Youth Orchestra Festival. A weekend of orchestral experiences for the advancing young musicians of Orange and surrounds. Register now to secure your place in the orchestra and be a part of this unique opportunity. Featuring:

Guest Conductor | Louis Sharpe (Canberra Youth Orchestra) 

Guest Tutors | Australian Classical & Romantic Orchestra (workshop)

with Lorraine Moxey (strings,Staff of Kinross Wolaroi School) & staff of the Orange Regional Conservatorium

The Festival will culminate in a free concert for family and friends Sunday 5th June at 2pm.

Friday 3 June 4:30pm - 7:00pm | Meet & greet, introductory workshop | Kinross Wolaroi School 
Saturday 4 June 9:00am - 3:30pm | Morning Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra workshop, tutorials & rehearsals | ORC
Sunday 5 10:00am - 3:00pm | Tutorials & rehearsals, 2pm concert for family and friends |ORC

Repertoire

Repertoire will be a combination of fun and challenging pieces, with parts emailed to participants ahead of the festival.

Who

Orchestral instrumentalists from Orange and surrounds, under the age of 21, who are of a Grade 5 AMEB (or equivalent) and above are encouraged to participate. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact us to discuss (admin@orangecon.org.au).

Cost

$130 | Includes morning tea and lunch on Saturday and Sunday

Guest Conductor | Louis Sharpe

Recently appointed to conduct the Canberra Youth Orchestra, Louis is a dynamic young conductor undertaking his Masters in Orchestral Conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Louis has also assisted at the Australian World Orchestra. With orchestral education a passion of his, Louis is thrilled to be the conductor of the Canberra Youth Orchestra and is excited to be able to extend his passion to the Orange region for this festival.
