Chamber Music Series | Concert 3

  • Orange Regional Conservatorium 73A Hill Street Orange, NSW, 2800 Australia (map)

Our journey along the ancient Silk Road began in 2021, starting in Asia with the traditional music of China and Japan, followed by a wild ride across the Steppes in what was our most successful chamber concert in quite a while! We were all set to journey into the mid-east and towards Europe when COVID struck once again, putting a mighty roadblock across our path.

2022 will see the ORC’s musicians push onwards! We will continue along the Silk Road, through the middle-east and into Europe with a series of three concerts filled with unexpected music from far away lands, while revisiting some of our most popular moments from the first two stops along our Silk Road path.

Concert 3 | Where Strangers Meet

For our final Silk Road concert, a collection of music that spans the length of the Silk Road. The concert will feature a wide range of composers from all along the Silk Road, including Reza Vali (Persia), Mezut Ozgen (Turkey), Joe Hisaishi (Japan), and a few European composers who were highly inspired by the Silk Road, including French composer Laurent Boutros and German Heinrich Molbe.
