James has worked professionally as a guitarist and educator since completing studies in contemporary music in 2007, and has enjoyed a varied career teaching in both instrumental & tertiary education settings.
Playing in almost every situation from Jazz trios, Symphony Orchestras, Punk, Rock, Metal, Pop Bands, Music theatre and more. Currently lead guitarist/composer in Godfrey Turner Overdrive, which have performed supporting national and international music acts. James also works as professional live sound and recording engineer.
Stephen has been playing since he was a small lad. Starting with classical guitar and piano. He moved into contemporary guitar and has since featured in many bands such as IO. Stephen works closely with many HSC students and adult learners.
Mitch tailors his teaching to each student. His teaching method for percussion is to teach core areas and then to encourage the student to which direction they want to take. Whether that be a particular style, specific genre, technique, improvisation, ensembles, etc.
Mitch’s life is about music and percussion which is evident in his passion to providing solid music education to his students.
Mitch offers tuition for percussion for those as young as 5yrs up to the adult learner.
Piano and Voice Tutor
Kyle Manning is a versatile contemporary performer with more than 15 years’ experience as a live and studio musician. He has performed in professional theatre in both Sydney and Melbourne and is accomplished in genres including jazz, pop, country, rock, blues and soul.
Kyle has worked with some of Australia’s leading contemporary musicians and his career highlights include performing on the same bill as INXS at the 2003 Rugby World Cup and the Princess Theatre Company production of Piano Men (Forum Melbourne, 1996).
Matt Arthur is a proven and experienced guitar teacher with over 35 years playing and more than 25 years teaching experience. Since 1987 Matt has been teaching guitar to children, teens and adults in both a private and school setting, both one on one and in groups. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, Matt is able to teach a variety of styles including classical, jazz, rock and blues guitar.
Before moving to Orange in early 2015, Matt was the founding owner of “My Guitar School” in Sydney. My Guitar School taught over 500 students and a staff of 8 teachers.
Matt is currently running guitar programs as a representative of the Orange Regional Conservatorium at Catherine McAuley Primary, St Mary’s Primary and James Sheahan High. Matt also runs programs at Kinross Wolaroi and Orange Public. He also conducts the ORC Guitar Ensemble on a Monday evening.
Matt performs on a regular basis within the Central West, either solos shows or teamed up with other notable musicians. Matt is a highly professional guitarist and guitar teacher. He is welcomed asset to the Orange community.
