Mums, dads, brothers and sisters alike poured into the ORC auditorium last Saturday morning for a special interactive treat, hosted by the Orange Youth Orchestra and conducted by Prem Love.
Parents and kids joined the orchestra onstage to play and sing along, helping out with the actions and sounds accompanying pieces such as the Barber of Seville and What’s Up at the Symphony.
OYO members performed their own short little musical pieces throughout the show recognizable from famous children’s TV shows, video games and movies, including Harry Potter, Star Wars and Super Mario Brothers – with costumes to go along with their selection.
Kids were even shown how to use some of the instruments and make interesting sounds, including how to blow into a trumpet, hitting the drums and seagull noises on a violin.
